About this guide
Last reviewed · verify live park facts with Parks Tasmania
tasmannationalpark.com.au is an independent, unofficial visitor guide. We help people plan walks, lookouts, itineraries, stays and tours around Tasman National Park, Tasmania. The usual first visit is northern geology if the clock is short; Cape Hauy only with an early Hobart leave.
We are not Parks & Wildlife Service Tasmania, the Tasmanian Government, Tourism Tasmania, Port Arthur Historic Site, or any other government or commercial attraction operator.
We acknowledge Tasmanian Aboriginal people, including Turrakana on the Tasman Peninsula, and their continuing connection to land, waters and culture. This site does not speak for Traditional Owner groups or for Parks Tasmania. We do not invent cultural detail.

Help people plan Tasman Peninsula days — geology first, capes second, Three Capes only when booked — while funding free guides through clearly disclosed ads and affiliates. Parks Pass, official camping and Three Capes bookings are never affiliated.
What this site is (and is not)
This is a long-form, park-specific planning guide: area pages, trail notes, printable itineraries, and original articles written for real Hobart day trips and short peninsula stays. It is not a booking engine, not a live alerts board, and not a directory of copied brochure blurbs. We publish decision frameworks — what to skip, when to turn around, what to do if Arch/Kitchen is closed or you left Hobart too late — then send you to Parks Tasmania for live status.
Related original guides on this site include a Cape Hauy operator’s guide, Plan B — Arch/Kitchen closed, Plan B — left Hobart too late, and a Three Capes decision tree. Start with Plan your visit if you want the operator brief first.
How we work (accuracy policy)
We use publicly available park facts from Parks Tasmania, keep fee systems separate (Parks Pass, Fortescue Bay camping, Three Capes Track booking), and write practical logistics for Cape Hauy, Cape Raoul, the northern geology sites and Fortescue Bay. We do not treat live closures, fees or hut availability as fixed facts.
- Distances, grades, fees and open/closed status must be verified on official Parks Tasmania pages before you travel. We never invent live closures.
- Site-wide content review date: . This guide is desk-built from official Parks Tasmania sources and published logistics — it is not a field diary and does not claim “we walked this on [date].”
- This site does not publish a public contact email — see Contact for official park phones and site expectations.

Advertising & affiliates
The site may display advertising and affiliate links (stays, tours, gear) to fund free content. Disclosures appear on relevant pages and in the affiliate disclosure. Parks Pass, Fortescue camping and official Three Capes / Parks Tasmania bookings are never affiliated.
National Parks Guide Australia network
Part of the National Parks Guide Australia network. This is one deep park guide (Tasman) in that network of independent visitor guides. The visitor-facing hub is National Parks Guide Australia — browse the directory and how the network works. The publisher remains Farming Domains.

Tasman sits on hub collections for coastal national parks, serious hiking, and overnight camping — dolerite sea cliffs and Fortescue nights, not a rainforest waterfall park.
